Attempting an Axial

We wanted to try and use an axial cut! Not only do they look cool, in this scenario, it also helped with the feel that time has passed. 

Our characters are walking from one place to another, which can be seen in this rough-ish cut. The one part that is bothersome is the change in lighting, which gives one pillar a more shaded look than the other. This can, however, be fixed with color correction post-production.

We filmed an axial for our last draft of the film, which actually ended up being one of the better shots. So, we decided to keep the same look for the newer version.

Updates: Locations!

 Quite a bit has happened since the Thanksgiving break!  Me and another group member scouted for possible locations. We found two good locations: Near our school’s peace mural, and near the baseball field fence.  After finding locations, we did a couple takes and played around with Investigator Rook’s ‘walk’ scene. In detective movies, the main Detective usually has an iconic ‘walk,’ or introduction scene. We wanted to incorporate this in our film, and we can’t wait to see how it looks in the final product! Locations selected can be seen below! Here is where most of our scenes will take place. We plan on using a backdrop for one scene specifically. This is the chosen location for Rook’s ‘walk’ scene. We hope we do this iconic scene justice!
